Other Options

Other appealing, more distant, hotel options include: the Graduate Hotel (formerly the Durant), Doubletree Berkeley Marina, the Oakland Marriott City Center, and the Rose Garden Inn.

Both the Claremont Hotel Berkeley and the Berkeley City Club are charming historic sites.

Air Travel

The two most convenient airport are Oakland (OAK) and San Francisco (SFO).

Ground Transportation

The most convenient and economical ground transportation from either airport to Downtown Berkeley is the BART metro system. You can plan your journey at the BART website.

At high traffic times, BART is much more efficient than cabs, uber, or lyft.

(Cabs in Berkeley are more expensive than either Uber or Lyft.)
